Sixty riders, a memorial run, and a stranger who said yes to a bed for the night.
I contacted Sam via ADVrider.com to ask for a place to crash on the way north. He told me "Absolutely!" but warned that I might get a little crowded that weekend.
A group of local bikers was hosting the annual Chip run — an event to remember a close friend lost to cancer, and to raise money for the local cancer hospital.
I was struck by the camaraderie among the roughly sixty riders, and by how they made room for me in it. Thanks to Sam, Lainie, Thomas and the rest of the crew for letting me be part of it.
